Academic Eligibility
Students must maintain a strong academic standing in order to participate in athletics. These athletic eligibility standards are established by the Colorado High School Activities Association in conjunction with Denver Public Schools. A student can not be failing more than one class during any week of the season nor fail more than one class in any one semester.
Athletic Eligibility for participation
Eligibility for a SPRING sport for all students is determined from first semester grades of the current school year. A student must have been enrolled in at least 5 one-half credit courses and failed no more than one class. Any athlete having a gpa under 2.0 or more than one "F" on their report card must recertify by the first friday in March.
Weekly Eligibility during the sport season
Weekly grades determine academic eligibility DURING the sport season. An athlete must be enrolled in at least 5 one half-credit courses and failing no more than one class to be allowed to participate each week. Any player who has more than one "F" on their weekly grades will be ineligible for the following week. Players will have eligibility expectations explained to them in detail before the season begins.
